Hi Christina, maybe you should ask your librarian to order more of my boMrs. Jeepers Creepy Christmasoks!Cool  You can tell her I suggested it since they were all checked out.  I handed out lots of candy for Halloween, but I was a biker in a leather jacket at a party the night before.
Brandon, the idea of Eddie came from lots of kids that I've known and taught (and even a little bit from me!).  I was born in 1959 so I'm pretty sure I won't be having any more babies!  Gricell, I like all my characters but Eddie really is fun to write about.  Joan, I'm so glad you like my books.  Is Mrs. Jeepers Creepy Christmas your favorite?  Happy All Souls Day, Debbie

Dear Alicia, your email came back undelivered so I'm answering it here in the hopes you will see it. Here are the answers to your questions:   I have three children: 15, 18, and 25.  I love to write because anything can happen in a story and it's fun to create new adventures.  I do believe in Jesus and I'm very grateful for all my blessings.  Like everyone, I've had some bad times but God has seen meMermaid Tales #1 through them.  I visited Germany a few years ago and found it much like where I live now-Pennsylvania.
Abby, I start out by making a plan of what will happen first, second, and so on in my stories.  I do this by brainstorming and thinking of all the possiblities.  I think about what my characters will be like and where the story will take place.  Then I just start writing.  After I'm at a good stopping point, I rewrite, rewrite, rewrite.  I hope you'll watch my video telling how I write my stories.
Carly, I do think Coach Waterford is a mermaid, do you?  Mr. Jenkins is still waiting to get his ship.  Can you tell I like mermaids-check out the picture of my new series-coming in 2012.  Hope you had a great Halloween.  I was a biker!  ttyl, Debbie

Happy Halloween!  Hope you have a haunting good day!  Christina, I'm sure you'll rock as a clown.  Caroline, I'm so glad you like my books.  Would you make a good mermaid Frankenstein bookcharacter?  Andrew, not sure what you mean about references for characters.  Perhaps this link will help.  Alex, love your idea!  I do like writing about Frankenstein.  Madyson, I'm glad you liked The Bride of Frankenstein Doesn't Bake Cookies.  Maybe you'd both enjoy Frankenstein Doesn't Slam Hockey Pucks.  Got to go, suddenly I'm hungry for a cookie, Debbie

Hey Kacee, I think you should read my books everyday!  I don't want you to cry.Cry  Carly, it was so good to hear from you Mermaids Don't Run Trackthrough your teacher.  She sounds great!  I'm so glad you are enjoying Mermaids Don't Run Track.  I do think Coach Waterford is a mermaid, do you?  Mr. Jenkins is still trying to get his ship just like I'm still trying to get a log cabin in the woods!  You may have noticed I like merfolk-my  next series is all about them!  I just finished a book where they have to escape a shark attack!  Have a great weekend and watch out for sharks. (Did you know the ocean's health actually depends on sharks?  Who knew?) be right back, Debbie
