Dear Makenzie, Way to go with your writing. I wonder if you'd like to check out my writing page. Janelle, I'll look forward to your snail mail letters. Noel, snail mail is a nickname for regular mail through the post office. Alivia, the ideas for the kids in my stories come though all the kids I've known in my life.
Jackson, Aksel, Kameron, and Noel-thanks for the kind words! Aksel, many of my books are on AR. Kameron and Janelle, I am writing more books! Jake, Jackson, and Raegan I have many favorites. Today, I am feeling partial to Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball (since I've been watching a lot of basketball lately!)
Jada and Jackson, I have sold 168 stories to be made into books. Mateo, I do like Garfield and some Jackson songs. Jake, I do like sports. You may have noticed that a lot of the Bailey School Kids books are about sports as well as some of the Mermaid Tales books. Eli, have you seen Bogeymen Don't Play Football? Suzy, that was quite a list! I will probably watch the new Frozen. I bet you will! Have a great week, Debbie

Hi Mateo, Did you know that I sometimes get ideas from kids? In fact, a kid told Marcia about an alien teacher wearing braces and that's where Aliens Don't Wear Braces came from! There are 51 numbered Bailey School Kids books, along with additional super specials and two spin offs: Bailey City Monsters and Bailey School Kids Junior Chapter books.
Janelle, thanks for writing back. Suzy, congratulations on Frozen. I heard they are making a Frozen 2! Have a great week, Debbie

Dear Mrs. Abrams, Thanks so much for reading my books with your students. Marcia and I had a lot of fun writing the Bailey School Kids books together. Did you know that your students really like goats, Michael Jackson, and LeBron James? Marcia visited Portland years ago, but unfortunately I haven't had the chance. It's actually on my bucket list to visit Washington, Oregon, and Maine (three states I haven't visited yet).
Jada, Mateo, Jake, Raegan, Eli, Easton, and Jackson, thanks so much for your kind words. I get ideas for stories from everywhere! The idea for Bigfoot Doesn't Square Dance came from a newspaper article about bigfoot! Alivia, it would be fun to write more books about Eddie, Melody, Howie, and Liza. Janelle, my favorite color is blue. Noel, it would be great to meet. Maybe I can visit your school someday! Jake, please tell your mom I said hello.
Aksel, I hope Ghosts Don't Eat Potato Chips wasn't too scary for you. Jackson, I must like werewolves a lot. Did you know I wrote three werewolf books with my friend Marcia? My three most favorite books today are: Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Floors, The Polar Bear Express, and The Slime Wars.
Damian, hello to your son.
Happy reading, Debbie

Dear Oscar, I have lots of favorites. I think since yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, I will say that Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball is my favorite today! My favorite part is the honey-bee waltz. Do you have a favorite of my books?
Makenzie, I'm so glad you like the Mermaid Tales books. Did you know I got the idea for Wish Upon a Starfish from my daughter? She loved being in school plays. Mermaid Tales # 19 is called The Narwhal Problem. Kiki wants to win a contest to meet a narwhal! Hope you'll like it. It comes out this summer. Have a super awesome fin-tastic week, Debbie

Dear Emily, Hi to you! I'm delighted that you enjoy my books. I am curious, do you have a favorite? Makenzie, the next Mermaid Tales book is The Narwhal Problem (the picture is below). It mixes a mystery, a problem, a contest, and friendshp together for what I hope is a fun story! The newest Mermaid Tales book is Fairy Chase, which has an unexpected ending!
Suzy, I have been to several countries including Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, The Bahamas, England, France, Germany, Scotland, Belgium, Egypt, Switzerland, Romania, Italy, Dominican Republic, Greece, and Croatia. I believe travel is a good way to learn that deep down people care about the same things. Have a good day, Debbie
