     Unka-hi! Siena, good luck in Pittsburg! I'm glad you'll be living close to your aunt and cousin. It's exciting to be in a new place and having family close by will make it special. Kayla, good to hear from you. Have fun with Siena!
     Ciera, congratulations on your great report card. Amanda, I have two brothers. I grew up in a small house with a dog, two parents, and two brothers. It was a pretty good childhood. It takes different amounts of time from one week to eight years to write a book and I get ideas from everywhere-even the newspaper. The Barkley School for Dogs books were based on things that happened to my dogs!
     Vivian, it was so good to hear from you again. I'm glad you like sixth grade, but I know it can be tough. Do you take tests in reading? I'd suggest talking to your teacher again to see if she can give you specific instructions on how to do better. Maybe she can help you during resource or after school time? Some teachers have websites that give study clues.  It may also be time to try reading harder books. Ask your librarian if she has any of my new Keyholder series. I hope you'll try one to see if you like it. It's about three kids who find out that must keep the bad magic out of the real world with the help of a unicorn, a baby dragon, and a rat! Hi Amanda, I'm glad you like my ninja book. I have to admit I did get into trouble quite a bit in grade school for talking too much, but I did manage to make pretty good grades. There was a series called Cherry Ames, Student Nurse that I liked to read. I have two brothers. I was the middle child, just like my daughter. Every summer we would spend time boat riding and water skiing. You can find out more about me on my FAQ page. My writing page will show you a picture of where I write. If you watch the Meaty Video there you'll find out what I think the hardest part of writing is-I do love being a writer. I love all my characters!
Siena, I'm sorry to hear that you are moving away from your friends. I have moved alot in the past and I'm happy to report that I've liked everywhere I lived. The cool thing is that I have my old friends and I've made new ones in the new places. I bet you will too. Good luck! Best, Debbie

Hi, I visited a great school today. The kids were awesome. Hey Daniel, I love your ideas. You rock! Raven, your idea was great fun too. I hope you'll check out my writing page. I think it will help you with your story. I'm impressed that you have kept working on it. Speaking of my writing page, I'm thinking of reworking it. What do you think of having my office as a picture and you have to click on different things, like a lamp, for the links?
