This Side of Magic     Hey Alex, so awesome to hear from you.  I'm so glad you like my books.  Did you know about my latest series that I wrote with Marcia Jones?  It's called the Keyholders.  It's a fantasy about three kids who have to keep the bad magic out of the real world.  It's funny you should write about a new series.  I'm supposed to find out this week about a series proposal.  A proposal is something a writer sends a publisher to see if they are interested in an The Wrong Side of Magicidea.  It usually includes character sketches (descriptions of the main characters), sample chapters, plot outlines, and ideas for books.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!  I think it would be great fun to write, but unfortunately most series ideas get rejected.  Take care and enjoy third grade, Debbie  (The other day I saw SIX deer and a hummingbird-how cool!)

Hi Sophia, so good to hear from you again.  I hope you are King of the Kootiesliking 4th grade.  What is your favorite part?  I loved my fourth grade teacher-but she did spank me for talking too much.  Mrs. Forker, if you are reading this, I forgive you!  One book that I wrote about fourth grade is called King of the Kooties.  I hope you don't have kooties at your school!  Wishing you many blessings, Debbie

I saw four deer this  morning!  They were eating in the Lizards in the Lunch Linecornfield beside my house.  It was misty and it looked like a painting.
Tithi, I'm so glad you like my stories.  One of my favorites for this time of year is  Lizards in the Lunch Line, one of the Swamp Monster in Third Grade series.  I like the part where one Swamp Monster scares another with a Halloween costume (Something I am sure you would never do!)  Have a great day, Debbie

Debbie Dadey Hey Catherine, I have been having the greatest fun writing about this girl who is twelve.  Her name is Lancome, her best friend is Meg, and her mom wants to be a movie star.  Lancome accidently meets this really good-looking  movie star that her friend Meg adores.  Things go totally opposite of the way they are supposed to go and that makes things interesting.  I think that's the cool thing about writing-anything can happen!  ttyl, Debbie

Caitlin, I'm so glad you liked the Keyholders books.   Inside the MagicI think I'm a little bit like Penny.  When I was in elementary school I loved to race and only one kid (Billy) in my class could beat me.   My kids went to Bridge Valley and Shephardson Elementary schools in Fort Collins.  We really liked living there-it was hard to leave!  Have you been to the crazy metal zoo that they have there?  I think it's called The Swetsville Zoo.  The owner makes awesome animals out of scrap parts, very neat.  brb, Debbie
