Hi!  I survived my first tropical storm this week.  Wow, the rain was amazing.  I can't imagine a hurricane!

Seetha, I'm so glad you like my books.  Simra, Marcia and I got the idea for our first Bailey School Kids book from a really bad day.  Maybe if you ever have a bad day, you could write about it.

Caroline, Mrs. Jeepers would think "American" superheroes were very cute.  You sound very talented.  I can't wait to see your work.

Now, I have a big question.  Since it's a new school year, should I continue Bridgett's Blog?  Last year she was in third grade.  Should she be in third forever, or should she graduate to fourth?  What do you guys think?  wwyd, Debbie

Wow!  Are you ready?  School starts tomorrow!  Or maybe RockStaryou're already in school where you live.  I think the beginning of the school year is very exciting.  I mean you never know what the next school year will bring.  I mean one of my books could be made into a hit movie :) or I could become a rock star!!  Who knows?

Caroline, how cool is it that you made me fan art?  I'll have to look on youtube to see what you were talking about.  You can send it to 557 Broadway NY, NY.  10017.  Simra, I'm glad you liked Trolls Don't Ride Rollercoasters.  Did you know that I am totally scared of roller coasters?

Rashad, I'm glad you like my books.  I think Eddie is a lot of fun too.  Actually, Godzilla Ate my Homework and Champ were written by my good friend, Marcia Jones.  You can find out more about her HERE.

Elias, how amazing that you've read almost all the Bailey School Kids books.  I think it would be great if they made the BSK into a movie too.  They have been discussing doing something for a while, but nothing yet.   John, I like your idea about writing a book with me.  What if I put something on my website where we could do that?  I"ll look into it.

Oops, Stephanie I forgot to tell you that s is for Sue.  I hope everyone has an amazingly fun, best first week of school ever. ttyl, Debbie

I had so much fun writing chapters 5 and 6 of Inside the Magic.  I can't wait to see if Marcia likes them.  There's one part that's really sad, and other parts that I hope are funny.

Greetings to John and all my new friends from Darien, CT.  You have a great library up there.  It was a lot easier driving home today than it was driving through NYC on a Sunday afternoon.  g2g, Debbie

It's awesome to start on book 3 of my new series.  In this book, the kids go into the magic world.  Will they ever come out again?  That's the question I'm soon to find out.  That's what makes writing so fun, anything can happen!

Hi Stephanie.  I'm glad you liked Ghouls Don't Scoop Ice Cream.  My favorite chapter is Super Eddie!

Hi Loretta. Yes, I do work from a chapter outline (a few sentences about each chapter.  I also do a summary and character sketches (the more important the character, the more complete the sketch). You can check out a way to get to know your character on my writing page.  My editor just made suggestions for my next book, Inside the Magic.  This is the third revision on just the outline.  She had two pages of suggestions!  It's back to the computer for me.  (And for Marcia Jones, we're writing it together.) Good luck with your writing.  Oh, yes my middle name is Sue.

Lauren, I hope you liked Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball.  Did you know I played basketball?  Every once in a while, I can still beat my youngest son.

Brenton, just a note to let you know that last week's sample manuscript page was in the final stages.  It had notes on it from the editor about how the pictures would look.

Guess what?  I'm making an animated video about writing.  Well, I'm assisting.  A very talented graphic artist is doing the hard part, but I did write the script.  Right now it's called Debbie Dadey's Meaty Story. I'm curious to see how it will turn out.
